HistoryThe Kazi Mingi Foundation (KMF) was founded in 1997 to provide quality education for African children. Since the mid 1960s, Kip and Phyllis Keino have been caring for orphans, giving them a second chance in life. Their dream to build a school for children in their care became a reality, with KMF’s first project raising funds to facilitate the construction of The KipKeino Primary School, Eldoret. Having been designed and built by Kenyans, the project provided much needed employment for the local community.
The school provides a solid education enabling each child to fully develop their individual talents within a warm and supportive environment, whilst also offering boarding facilities to Standard 5-8 children (9 – 12 years). The aim of the school is to produce well-balanced citizens of Kenya who will be assets to Kenyan society whatever profession or career they choose to pursue. The KipKeino Primary School is led by Mr Nicholas Chobong, the appointed Head Teacher and is staffed by 15 Kenyan teachers. "I would like to thank all our donors without whose great assistance and kind hearts we would never even have a dream of this great opportunity." Angela Olela - Standard 7 The KipKeino Primary School, Eldoret
Our aim is to provide a quality education to African children, regardless of class or background, by supporting the development of educational opportunities within their own specific cultural contexts. |

Through this school these children have been given the chance to develop as individuals and build a future for themselves.
KMF are now focusing on our current project in a town called Voi, Kenya, situated between Mombasa and Nairobi. St Bartholomew High school will provide education and boarding facilities for the local area.
